I lovingly raise and sell these wonderful little dogs. Schipperke dogs make excellent family pets. They range in size from a small 12 lbs to a giant 20 lbs. The breed is very social, very fond of children, and each one has its own unique personality. They are also highly intelligent and can be trained to follow virtually any command.
The Schipperke originated in the Flemish provinces of Belgium. The name Schipperke means "little captain of the boat". They got their name from Schip which means boat, schipper which means captain of the boat and, because they were used on the canal barges to guard the boat and to catch the vermin, they were called "little captains".

This is a little girl I sold in October of 2002. Star has a wonderful home with two very active humans. She loves to hike, back pack, camp and generally be in the great outdoors.
